
Etihad Airways has introduced a new stopover program that provides complimentary accommodation for tourists, making it more convenient to visit Abu Dhabi.According to the airline, the newly introduced stopover program enables visitors who directly book a roundtrip flight on Etihad.com to include up to two free hotel nights in the city. Passengers have the option to include a stopover while making their booking.”Over the next year, we aim to attract over 100,000 visitors to Abu Dhabi through the Stopover program. We are confident that once they experience what the capital has to offer, they will come back for more,” stated Antonoaldo Neves, the CEO of Etihad. “We are delighted to collaborate closely with the Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi to present the world with a comprehensive display of the emirate’s offerings.”Travelers have the option to select either 3- or 4-star hotels for their stopover. Breakfast and further amenities are not included.Travelers who choose to utilize the stopover option will be required to pay a nominal cost of $9.99. The stopover is unavailable during some holidays and peak seasons, including November 3rd to November 8th, December 5th to December 8th, and December 23rd to January 2nd.Furthermore, Etihad’s boarding card serves as an Abu Dhabi card, allowing tourists to enjoy discounts on well-known destinations such as the Louvre Abu Dhabi.
Etihad is not the only airline that has a complimentary stopover service. Additional airlines such as Icelandair and TAP Portugal provide the opportunity to make a stop in their main cities at no additional cost. In the past, Etihad provided a distinct complimentary stopover program for customers traveling in first-class, business-class, and residence.Etihad’s recent introduction of a new service between Boston and Abu Dhabi, as well as the reintroduction of its Airbus A380 aircraft on one of its daily flights between the United Arab Emirates and New York, has led to the decision to permit more tourists to stop in Abu Dhabi. Amidst the epidemic, the jet, which was originally intended for retirement, now features an extraordinary first-class suite called “The Residence” that consists of three separate rooms.In addition, the airline has recently broadened its collaboration with JetBlue, enabling passengers to accumulate and utilize points within both companies’ loyalty programs.
