Thailand now allows visa-free entrance for 93 countries.

The Thai cabinet recently introduced many new visa initiatives aimed at increasing the number of visitors and remote workers. These initiatives include visa-free and visa-on-arrival programs, longer stays for students, and decreased mandatory health insurance for retirees.Effective June 1, the number of countries that will be granted visa-free entrance to Thailand will expand from 57 to 93. Under the revised policy, tourists are now permitted to remain in Thailand for a maximum duration of 60 days, as opposed to the previous restriction of 30 days.The countries that are eligible for visa-free stays encompass prominent tourism markets such as China and India, as well as the United States, United Kingdom, Albania, United Arab Emirates, Cambodia, Jamaica, Kazakhstan, Laos, Mexico, Morocco, Panama, Romania, Sri Lanka, and Uzbekistan.The Thai cabinet has granted approval for visa-on-arrival to be extended to 31 nations, an increase from the previous 19. The countries listed are Armenia, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Fiji, and Malta.ChaiWacharonke, the government spokeswoman, highlighted the significance of tourism for Thailand’s national economy and its contribution to employment opportunities. Thailand welcomed 14.3 million tourists from January to May 26 this year. The country has set a target of attracting a record 40 million foreign visitors for the entire year, with an anticipated revenue of THB 3.5 trillion ($95.73 billion).

By contrast, the year 2019 had an unprecedented influx of 39.9 million visitors, resulting in a substantial revenue of THB 1.91 trillion.
