Westpac Future Scholarship 2024 <\/span>Eligibility Criteria<\/span>:<\/span><\/h3>\n

To be eligible to receive an Westpac Future Leaders Scholarship, you must:<\/span><\/p>\n

Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident (New Zealand citizens who are not Australian citizens aren\u2019t qualified to be considered for the application);<\/span>
\nAre on or have achieved course to reach an average of H1 or equivalent H2A (approx.<\/span>\u00a075 WAM);<\/span>
\nYou have decided to do the Master in research or coursework or an PhD in the ANU with a demonstrated ability of world class in the area of study.<\/span>
\nIf you are undertaking a research project the proposed field of study must be the field of research that has the\u00a0Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA)<\/a>four digit Field of Research (FOR) rating of 5.<\/span>
\nBegin study in 2024 (Jan to December 2024);<\/span>
\nThe proposed study program and post-study plan should be able to contribute to the development of Australia by at the very least one of areas of the Westpac Scholars Trust\u2019s funding priority areas.<\/span>
\nInnovation and technology<\/span>
\nBuilding stronger ties that connect Australia and Asia<\/span>
\nFacilitating positive social change<\/span>
\nConsider international opportunities, for example, a period in study at an international university, or a presentation at an event that is relevant to your discipline or internship assignment with an international organization which can help enhance your leadership abilities as well as global networks.<\/span>
\nMake sure you have a viable and worthy post-study program that is beneficial to Australia<\/span><\/p>\n

Selection Criteria<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The selection process will be based on the academic accomplishments of the candidate and a world-class academic program and the focus of one or several of the Trust\u2019s key areas.<\/span>\u00a0Candidates who are successful must demonstrate the following:<\/span><\/p>\n

Application Procedure for the Westpac Future Scholarship 2024:<\/span><\/h3>\n

Each application has to be made through the Online application process.<\/span>\u00a0Documentation supporting the application is needed in the online application<\/span><\/p>\n

A CV with no greater than 2 pages in 10 points Arial font and line spacing of 1.5;<\/span>
\nA photograph (headshot) that shows the candidate<\/span>
\n(For PhD or Master by Research applicants only) A letter of recommendation from the prospective applicant\u2019s ANU Research School stating that they\u2019re eligible for admission to the PhD or Master by Research program, and mentioning names of Research Supervisors<\/span>
\nA certified copy of all university transcripts of academics;<\/span>
\nTwo references are required in the templates for reference that can be found at the Westpac Scholars Trust website.<\/span>\u00a0The individuals selected for the reference should be those who are willing to be contact through the Trust:<\/span>
\nThe first is called an\u00a0Academic Reference<\/strong>\u00a0and must be signed by someone who is acquainted with the applicant\u2019s academic records and knows the significance of their academic program.<\/span>
\nThe other is the\u00a0Persona Reference <\/strong>and must be signed by someone who can prove that the applicant meets the requirements that make them an Westpac Scholar.<\/span>\u00a0It could be a former boss or colleague but is not an immediate family member or person who previously or now had direct contact with the applicant.<\/span><\/p>\n

The applicants may be required to provide documents proving citizenship or permanent residence at any point throughout the application process.<\/span>\u00a0The application that is not accompanied by the above documents will not be accepted to be considered by the Trust.<\/span>\u00a0The templates for documents required to support the application are available at the Westpac Scholars Trust Website.<\/span><\/p>\n
