Today, the Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced a surprise Express Entry draw for candidates involved in the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CEC is among the three programs managed under Canada’s Express Entry system.\u00a0The program is designed for skilled workers who have Canadian work experience and want to become permanent residents.

Draw (188) issued 1,842 invitations to apply (ITAs) to candidates with a minimum\u00a0Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)\u00a0score of 397, a rare and unusually low requirement cutoff. These scores show a decrease of 4 points compared to the\u00a0previous CEC draw\u00a0held on May 13th, 2021.

The government is still on track to meet its ambitious target of\u00a0welcoming over 400,000 newcomers throughout the year. Today’s draw brought the total ITAs to 68,317. Coming very close to doubling\u00a0the numbers issued compared to this time last year.\u00a0

IRCC applied its tie-breaking rule with the timestamp of April 24, 2021 at 12:09:24 UTC. This means that Candidates who had the minimum score of 397 are only invited if they submitted their\u00a0Express Entry\u00a0profile before the tie-breaking rule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
