\u00a0Art Scholarships<\/strong>! Do you think that all \u201cgood\u201d scholarships are for academics, sports, or even volunteering? Do not be fooled by creative artists! The following list of scholarships is an entry point in the paint bucket. There are just as many scholarships as there are art forms. A few art scholarship applications require essays, while others include Duck Tape, and some require an artist\u2019s portfolio; however, all are worthy of taking a look.<\/span><\/p>\n These artist scholarships are also a great opportunity to demonstrate that your talents are unique from others!<\/span><\/p>\n Go ahead and jump to:<\/span><\/p>\n Top art scholarships<\/span> The renowned French painter Henri Matisse once said that \u201cCreativity takes courage.\u201d You already have the confidence to be creative, so go one step further and submit an application for a few scholarships.<\/span><\/p>\n The eligibility criteria are:<\/strong>\u00a0Florida High School seniors who plan to pursue the field of art (underrepresented minority groups and Central Florida applicants prefer)<\/span> Eligibility<\/strong>\u00a0Seniors in high school, undergraduates or graduate students interested in pursuing an art degree (must be able to submit a portfolio submit along with volunteer experience with a non-profit organization)<\/span> The eligibility criteria are<\/strong>\u00a0Michigan BIPOC juniors and seniors from high schools or students studying the field of design or art.<\/span> The eligibility criteria are\u00a0<\/strong>High school and undergraduate students interested in studying the arts in higher education.<\/span> Inclusion<\/strong>: Asian American college students who are pursuing a degree in visual, performing arts or mass communications, and journalism.<\/span> Ineligible:<\/strong>\u00a0Low-income junior and senior high school students or undergraduate students planning to attend art school.<\/span> The criteria for eligibility are<\/strong>\u00a0Students ages 11 to 18 who have created an art piece in the genre they choose, which includes film, visual art, poetry, music, prose, multimedia and interactive.<\/span> Ineligibility<\/strong>\u00a0Students who are full-time between the age of 8-18<\/span> Ineligibility<\/strong>\u00a0School students from the high schools who design prom dresses using duck tape<\/span> The eligibility criteria:<\/strong>\u00a0For eligibility to receive this award, students must be a new (graduating from the high school of their choice) or a college student who creates a holiday greeting card<\/span> Ineligibility<\/strong>\u00a0students aged 13 or over in grades seven up to 12 may be eligible to receive awards.<\/span> The eligibility criteria are<\/strong>\u00a0Students in grades 9-12 in the United States.<\/span> Eligibility Students who have completed<\/strong>B.A. M.A. and Ph.D.programs related to art historians and art education and museum studies or studio art.<\/span> Ineligibility<\/strong>\u00a0Individuals with special needs who have applied to and already been admitted or are currently at an institution of higher learning, a university or college or art school, trade school, or any other degree-granting programs. The student must have a stated interest in studying or majoring in art.<\/span> Always inquire with your university or college (or colleges you are considering) for opportunities to receive a scholarship in the field of art. Many colleges offer scholarships to students with special talents in the arts.<\/span><\/p>\n The majority of college-specific awards for artists require applicants to provide a portfolio that will form the application\u2019s main component for an award of artistic merit.<\/span><\/p>\n Here are a few schools and universities that provide specific art awards:<\/span><\/p>\n Denison provides Denison\u2019s Michele Myers Fellowship in the Arts to talented artists of the visual arts.<\/span><\/p>\n The Drew Scholarship for the Arts is worth $1000 each year.<\/span><\/p>\n Kenyon provides scholarships of $15,000 annually, which is renewable for Studio artists.<\/span><\/p>\n SMU offers artist scholarships which vary in the number of scholarships offered. The average award is $5,000 per year.<\/span><\/p>\n Olaf College (Northfield, MN)<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n St. Olaf offers talent-based grants to artists. They are worth $6,000 per year, renewable.<\/span><\/p>\n Wake Forest offers scholarships valued at $64,000. This is equivalent to $8,000 per term, which is renewable for eight semesters of undergraduate studies (20 scholarships are offered every year)<\/span><\/p>\n A good starting point is this list! Also, it would help if you looked up the websites of the institutional interests you.
