Chief Secretary G-B Orders Crackdown on Ghost Employees Across Government Departments

Gilgit (PR): Under the special directives of Chief Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) Abrar Ahmad Mirza, efforts to identify potential ghost employees across public sector departments are underway.

This initiative has been taken in light of the recommendations from the Rationalization Committee, headed by the Additional Chief Secretary Development.

The initiative aims at long-term planning for establishing a robust and transparent job system within government departments.

According to a press note issued by the chief secretary office, 83 ghost employees have been identified as ghost employees in the Department of Communications and Construction as a result of the verification process and data scrutiny of government employees by AGPR.

Upon the release of the ghost employees report, the Department of Anti-Corruption Establishment has been immediately tasked with concluding legal proceedings.

The Chief Secretary of Gilgit-Baltistan has instructed the anti-corruption establishment department to gather data on employees in various government departments, including education, power, and health.

According the directions, after thorough verification, ghost employees should be promptly dismissed, and legal action should be taken against government employees involved in illegal recruitment and corruption.

Orders have also been issued to address any damage to the public treasury caused by nepotism.
