Today, the Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced a second Express Entry draw within 24 hours for candidates involved in the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
Today’s draw (152) was held at 13:33:58 UTC. 3,559 candidates that had a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 437 received an invitation to apply (ITA). The CEC draws are continuing to drop in required points as the three most recent draws have been the lowest since October 2017.
Today’s draw brings the total number of ITAs issued in 2020 to 46,000. This signifies that despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Government of Canada is committed to reaching its immigration targets for 2020.
IRCC applied its tie-breaking rule with the timestamp of May 25, 2020, at 00:31:43 UTC. This means that all candidates with a CRS score of 437 or above, and previous candidates with a score of 437 or above who entered their profile in the Express Entry pool before the selected tie-breaking date and time will receive an invitation in this round.
Yesterday’s Express Entry draw was for candidates with a provincial nomination which adds an additional 600 points to their CRS score. This explains why certain Express Entry draws require very high points.
