Express Entry Draw 160 + 161 – Provincial Nominee Class

Today, August 19th, 2020, the Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced an Express Entry draw for candidates involved in the Provincial Nomination Program (PNP).

Today’s draw (160) was held at 12:41:09 UTC. 600 candidates that had a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 771 received an invitation to apply (ITA), an increase of 84 points compared to the previous Provincial Nominee Program draw held on July 22nd, 2020.

Candidates with a provincial nomination receive an additional 600 CRS points which explain the spike in required points for this draw as only candidates with Nomination Certificates were selected.

Today’s draw brings the total number of ITAs issued in 2020 to 62,450. This signifies that despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Government of Canada is continuing to select skilled workers for permanent residence.

IRCC applied its tie-breaking rule with the timestamp of July 24, 2020, at 11:39:23 UTC. If more than one eligible candidate had the minimum CRS score, only those who submitted their Express Entry profiles before this date and time received invitations.
