University of Waterloo Scholarship 2024-2025 Benefits:
David Johnston-Lebovic Foundation International Experience Awards range in value between $2,500 and $2500 for single-term study opportunities; between $2,500 and $5,000 will go to fund one or two-term volunteer or project opportunities; up to a maximum award value of $10,000 will be offered for 2-term employment or volunteering experiences.
International Master’s Award of Excellence is worth $2,500 each term up to six months long.
University of Waterloo Scholarship 2024-2025 Eligibility Criteria:
Students who maintain excellent academic credentials (typically 70%+ average for undergraduates with no less than 75% at the graduate stage) are eligible for consideration of scholarships.
Full-time undergraduate and graduate students of any department who want an immersive study abroad experience in Israel that may include paid or voluntary co-op employment arrangements, co-op placement opportunities academic exchange or study terms that meet academic requirements can apply for this opportunity.
Students residing abroad who possess valid Canadian study permits and who are full-time enrolled typically incur charges for international tuition, which usually come into effect for programs focused on research (thesis/major papers). They often receive this kind of award.
Students entering their initial term (term 1.0) of study (usually term 1) qualify for this award by meeting faculty standards for academic excellence and being recognized.
Students enrolled in programs must meet academic requirements set by that program and do not owe probationary requirements for entry.
Scholarship awards may be added to external or internal scholarship programs (such as UW Graduate Scholarship and OGS programs). Please keep in mind that scholarship awards differ from sponsorship – please see further down in this section for details.
Normally, students cannot simultaneously benefit from receiving sponsorship from foreign agencies (China Scholarship Council or Libyan sponsorship for example) as well as self-funding over and above what their faculty provides as minimum levels of assistance.
Grandparents who were granted grants through the International Money for Student Abroad (IMSA) program do not qualify to be considered for an IMAE, while students who previously were awarded an IMSA award and have since graduated can still be considered.
Students applying to become admitted will automatically become eligible for this award; departments/faculty will then establish internal procedures to select awardees based on qualification criteria and distribution.
Faculty may set more stringent eligibility standards as necessary.
