MODERN SLAVERY STATEMENT
Slavery is theft—theft of a life
Contemporary enslavement is both a criminal act and a breach of essential human entitlements. It manifests in different ways, including slavery, servitude, forced and compelled labor, and human trafficking. These forms all share the common element of one person depriving another of their freedom in order to exploit them for personal or commercial benefit. The AMI Group of Companies, including its subsidiaries, divisions, and affiliates, maintains a strict policy against modern slavery. We are dedicated to conducting our business with ethical principles and integrity, and we are fully committed to establishing and enforcing robust systems and controls to prevent modern slavery within our organization and throughout our supply chains. We are dedicated to guaranteeing transparency in our own company and in our efforts to address modern slavery in our supply chains, in accordance with our disclosure requirements outlined in the Modern Slavery Act 2015. Our company holds all contractors, suppliers, and business partners to the same rigorous standards. As part of our contracting procedures, we explicitly forbid the use of forced, compulsory, or trafficked labor, as well as any form of slavery or servitude, regardless of age. We also expect our suppliers to enforce these high standards with their own suppliers. This policy is applicable to all individuals employed by us or working on our behalf, regardless of their role or position, including employees at all hierarchical levels, officers, and independent contractors who provide services to us.
The board of directors of the AMI Group of Companies is ultimately responsible for ensuring that this policy aligns with our legal and ethical commitments, and that all individuals under our authority adhere to it. The legal and finance teams of the AMI Group of Companies are primarily responsible for implementing, monitoring, and ensuring the effectiveness of this policy. They also handle any inquiries related to the policy and conduct audits of internal control systems and procedures to ensure their effectiveness in combating modern slavery.Line managers have the responsibility of ensuring that their subordinates comprehend and adhere to this policy. Additionally, they must provide sufficient training to their subordinates regarding their role in addressing the issue of modern slavery in supply chains.
All individuals employed by us or under our authority are responsible for preventing, detecting, and reporting instances of modern slavery within our business operations or supply networks. An employee must promptly inform her line manager or the legal team if she feels or suspects that a violation of this policy has taken place or may happen in the future. Employees are urged to promptly report any concerns or suspicions regarding modern slavery in any aspect of our company or the supply networks of our suppliers, regardless of their position within the supply chain. If an employee has reason to believe or suspect a violation of this policy has taken place or is likely to occur, they must promptly inform their supervisor or the legal department, or follow the procedures outlined in our Whistleblowing Policy. If you have any doubts regarding whether a specific action, the overall treatment of employees, or their working conditions at any level of our supply chains qualify as any of the different types of modern slavery, bring it up with your supervisor or the legal department. Our objective is to promote transparency and we will provide assistance to individuals who express legitimate concerns in a sincere manner according to this policy, even if their worries are later proven to be unfounded. We are dedicated to guaranteeing that individuals do not experience any harmful consequences for reporting their sincere suspicion of modern slavery, in any form, occurring within our business or supplier networks.
Staff will get training on this policy, as well as on the risk of modern slavery in the business’s supply chains. The training will be offered on a job-role basis, ensuring that employees are equipped with the knowledge to identify and report situations of exploitation and modern slavery.
Any employee who violates this policy will be subject to disciplinary measures, which may include immediate termination for serious misconduct. If suppliers, contractors, or other business partners of the AMI Group of Companies violate this policy and/or are discovered to have participated in modern slavery, their commercial connection may be terminated.
